Although I’ve sold the pad already (I won it in a tournament, but do not play DDR at home, unfortunately), I have some good things to say about it.

The first thing I did with it was put my shoes on and boot up max2. For some reason the control box was on the fritz, but unplugging the c-box from the ps2 and pad and reconnecting quickly ameliorated the situation. Anyhow, I figured I would give it a couple shots on some songs that I do well on at the arcade and don’t even have to think about while playing. Hysteria2001 and Love Love Shine. Now, if I were to play these on my red octane soft pads, I would have to concentrate on hitting them the right way, because they’re a different material. However……the cobalt flux pad felt...

Well, I am so impatient and the pad finally came after about two weeks and 4 days. Once the pad was shipped, I checked the status of it constantly. Although UPS might not take to care of their packages, they are good about updating tracking information.

Anyways, so I come home and my c-box is at the door. The box was totally thrashed.It was like smashed in, luckily everything was fine. Then about an hour later, my pad came. The package was in perfect shape. When I opened it, I noticed the new packaging CF was talking about. Its great, nothing wrong with my pad.

So I take the pad and flip it over, and OMG, it looks so nice.I just stared at it for like a minute. Now here's my review:

Design/Look: 5/5

Theres not much to say on this one, except that the key appears to be in the melamine baseboard, and of course the quality of the materials, namely that cobalt flux chose lexan instead of acrylic, which shatters on crazy songs like MAX 300 or MaxXunlimited if you stomp to hard. The actual look is excellent, and everything looks extremely sleek and secure.

Sensitivity: 5/5

I try to play flat-foot conservative, and at first I had some problems with this style on this pad. The "sweet spot" on each of the arrows does not extend all the way out to the edges, but stops 2-3 inches short. This problem was easily remedied by widening the position of my feet. Otherwise, the sensitivity is truly the best I've felt. You'
