"Now for a little repetition of other reviews -- this pad feels like it's going to last a hundred years. I can step as hard as I want on it, and the CF doesn't miss a beat. If the sheet metal ever fatigues, it's simple enough to loosen the panel and flex the metal back upwards. Cleaning and maintenance are also a breeze -- I'm by no means electrically inclined, so being able to perform all of the maintenance tasks I'll need to do with just a simple screwdriver is a great benefit for me!"
"To review: if you have the $300 to plunk down, don't hesitate. Get a CF now. You will not regret it. And if you don't have the money, get a second job, recycle cans, go to a loan shark -- do whatever you can to get the money. If you're at all serious about playing DDR, get a Cobalt Flux. Looking back at my failed soft pad and my Ignition, I realize how long I dealt with missed steps, ghost steps, and shoddy pads in frustration. I wish I had gotten my CF sooner!"

...Anyhow, I figured I would give it a couple shots on some songs that I do well on at the arcade and don’t even have to think about while playing. Hysteria2001 and Love Love Shine. Now, if I were to play these on my soft pads, I would have to concentrate on hitting them the right way, because they’re a different material. However……the cobalt flux pad felt exactly like playing at the arcade, sans the hollow box feel that occurs when you step on a real arrow, no kidding! So, love shine was completed with 1 great, even though I have AAA’ed it before; no big deal, I can’t AAA it all the time. So on Hysteria 2001, which I haven’t played in some time, I also got 1 great, which was a record for me on that song...

Appearance - Slick, doesn't quite resemble the arcade. Weekly cleaning will keep this baby shiny. Flat, yet sturdy design. CF logo in middle represents mark of quality. Everything except the border is regulation size.

Design - This is a broad topic, so bear with the quick comments about something which there is a lot to cover...I may elaborate on a later review which will see how the CF stands the test of time. Wires on the outside, excellent concept...

Price - [Great.] This is mainly because of the warranty. They also use much higher quality materials than other companies, but the fact that they cover all parts/labor (minus shipping one-way *sniff*) for 6 MONTHS! is well worth your confidence.
